This platform is currently available to users with a valid UIUC Microsoft account. This helps keep the community trusted and accountable.

Do I need to create a profile?

A basic profile is created automatically when you sign in. You can edit your name and photo later if you choose.

Is my real name visible to everyone?

No. Your full name is only shown to people who are actively booking or riding with you. Public viewers see a shortened or anonymized name.

Do I need to add a car before posting a trip?

Yes. Every trip must be associated with a car so riders know what to expect.

Can I reuse trip or rule settings?

Yes. You can save trip templates and rule templates to quickly post similar trips in the future.

What does “Auto-accept” mean?

If enabled, riders who meet your rules will be automatically accepted without manual approval.

Can I edit trip details after riders join?

Some fields can be edited before pickup starts. Once pickup begins, trip rules and car info are locked for safety.

Are exact pickup and drop-off addresses public?

No. Public listings show general areas, not exact addresses.

When are exact locations shared?

Exact pickup details are only shared between drivers and riders during active coordination.

Why can’t I see someone’s address yet?

Location details unlock only when they are operationally needed (e.g., during check-in or pickup).

How does search ranking work?

Results are ranked using a combination of time proximity, pickup distance, and drop-off distance.

Can I book multiple trips?

Yes, but you can only have one active booking per trip.

What happens after I request to join a trip?

Depending on the trip rules, you may be: - auto-accepted - waiting for driver approval - given a payment window

What payment methods are supported?

Supported methods are listed on each trip. These may include cash or digital payment methods.

What is a payment window?

Some trips require payment within a set time. If payment isn’t confirmed in time, the booking may expire automatically.

What happens if my payment times out?

Your booking will be marked as expired, and the seat may be released.

What is check-in?

Check-in allows riders to mark themselves as ready for pickup.

Can I change my pickup note during check-in?

Yes, but changes are rate-limited to prevent spam.

What happens when the driver starts pickup?

Pickup begins, trip details are locked, and riders who are not picked up may be marked as no-shows.

What happens if a driver is late?

The system may: - send reminders - automatically start pickup after a grace period

What if a driver forgets to complete the trip?

Trips may be automatically completed after a set amount of time.

Can trips be cancelled after pickup starts?

No. After pickup starts, trips can only be completed or aborted.

What notifications will I receive?

You’ll receive notifications for important events like booking updates, check-in, pickup start, and trip changes.

Can I turn off notifications?

Non-critical notifications can be adjusted in your settings. Important notifications cannot be disabled.

How do you prevent misuse?

Is my phone number public?

No. Phone numbers are only shared temporarily during active trips or short grace periods afterward.

Can I see past trips and bookings?

Yes. Your trip and booking history is always available to you.

Why can I still see someone’s name from a past trip?

Past interactions act as a “receipt” so you know who you interacted with, but contact details are hidden.

Is this a rideshare company?

No. This platform helps students coordinate rides. Drivers and riders arrange details directly.
