Only users authenticated through UIUC Microsoft login can create an account.

This creates accountability and reduces abuse.

Profiles are intentionally privacy-aware.

• Full names, photos, and phone numbers are not public by default
• Identity details become visible only when there is an active or recent trip relationship
• Past trips do not grant permanent access to personal contact information

Your profile is not meant to be a public directory.

Exact addresses are never publicly displayed.

• Public trip listings show general areas, not exact pickup points

Precise locations are only shared:

• during active coordination windows
• with users directly involved in the trip

Latitude/longitude data is never exposed to unrelated users

Drivers control pickup radii, not exact addresses.

To reduce pressure and ambiguity:

• Pickup coordination opens only when it’s operationally necessary
• Riders and drivers can share notes during active trips
• You are never required to meet before a trip becomes active
• If something feels wrong, you can leave or remove a booking before departure

Trust your judgment — the system supports it.

This platform does not process payments.

• Payments are arranged directly between riders and drivers
• The system tracks payment status only to manage trip flow
• No funds are held, escrowed, or guaranteed

Booking history and timestamps are preserved for clarity.

The system uses automation to reduce confusion and unfairness:

• Seats are released if riders don’t pay within the allowed window
• Trips are locked before departure to prevent last-minute chaos
• Check-in, departure, and completion can be automated if forgotten
• All system actions are logged and visible

No silent or unexplained changes.

This is a coordination platform, not an arbitration service.

• Users are responsible for communication and decisions
• The system preserves booking history and action timestamps
• Repeated misuse becomes visible through patterns and records

Use common sense and communicate early.

We expect all users to:

• Be honest about timing and availability
• Communicate clearly and respectfully
• Respect pickup rules and time windows
• Treat others as you would want to be treated

This platform works because the community does.

To avoid misunderstandings, this platform is not:

• a taxi or ride-hailing service
• a payment processor
• a safety guarantee
• a substitute for personal judgment

Use it responsibly.

Your safety comes first.

• Do not proceed with a pickup if you feel uncomfortable
• You are not obligated to continue a trip
• Leaving a booking before departure is allowed
